Cottswood has been a leader in inspiring Edmonton’s most beautiful, functional, fabulous homes for over 30 years. Cottswood was founded by Sue Martin originally offering décor, gifts and antiques, which lead to a gradual expansion to larger pieces of furniture and eventually occupying multiple units in High Street on 102nd Avenue. Eventually, the store's name was updated to Cottswood (derived from Sue’s origins in the Cottswolds in England). Overtime, Cottswood established a reputation as one of the most prominent sources for some of the best know furniture brands internationally, we are Northern Alberta's source for the highest quality furnishings.
When Sue was ready to retire and was looking for a succession plan, she met a local retailer and entrepreneur named Matt Singer. The fit was perfect and the next generation of Cottswood’s leadership had begun..

I received a Bachelor's of Design and Fine Arts in Eastern Europe. I've always been inspired by people and their homes, so I truly love what I do. My keys to successful projects are balance and harmony. I enjoy finding my clients beautiful and quality-made furniture that will be part of their lives for years to come.
When looking at a room I first seek out the intention and function of how you use your space? Comfort is critical so exploring our showroom to find that perfect upholstery or mattress is so important. Lastly, we tie everything together from our showroom discoveries with a pleasing aesthetic through style, stain colour, fabric and leather selection.
My personal aesthetic is traditional. Although, it used to be modern so it’s a bit of a mix, you could call it "transitional." I like things that mean something, things that have history. I think it’s important to bring those items into your home.
Change is good and working through the right plan for you is all apart of the process. We'll work together to get to a finished product that you're proud of.

"My family has been in retail for four generations. My great grandfather came from New York and opened a furniture business in Edmonton over 100 years ago. Since then, my family has been retailers in fashion and sporting goods. I grew up learning from the great mentors, who taught me that retail is fine balance of great relationships between customers, sales people, suppliers and the community at large.
